Alyssa Hedrich:
Alyssa was born in Sacramento, but as she has lived in Albuquerque since the age of 4, she identifies as a native New Mexican. She is an undergraduate studying biology and has a vested interest in graduating one day. During her time in Dr. Taylor's lab, she has seen more of New Mexico than she had ever dreamed, learned more about orchids than she ever expected, and has grown a surprising fondness for ectomycorrhizae (a word she one day hopes to spell correctly on the first try). She is currently investigating the specificity of associations between Corallorhiza maculata (orchid species) and Russulacae (fungi family).
